Samdech Sar Kheng Chairs a Meeting of the National Coordinating Committee Against Money Laundering


Phnom Penh: Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the National Coordinating Committee Against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and the Financing of the Holocaust (IOC) In 2022, he chaired the 5th meeting of the CEC with the participation of His Excellency the Minister, relevant Ministries, Heads of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), Secretary of State, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior, The General Commission of the National Police and many other stakeholders held the ceremony at Sokha Hotel, Phnom Penh.

On that occasion, Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, President of the CSR, welcomed that this morning’s meeting was held in order to review the results of the decision of the Financial Action Task Force (FATE). The report on the progress of the 10th round of Cambodia, as well as the direction of further work to be well prepared for the work settlement during January 2023 to remove Cambodia from the gray list FATF in the future.

Samdech Krala Hom also stated that based on the preliminary report received by Samdech after the National Bank of Cambodia and Cambodian stakeholders prepared its 10th round progress report and submitted to FATF in a timely manner. Seeing good progress, similar to the progress of the ninth round, and the FATF General Assembly on October 21, 2022 that Cambodia has fully implemented all the remaining action plans and decided to have an On-site Visit at In January 2023.

Taking this opportunity, Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, President of the Royal Government of Cambodia, confirmed that on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia and on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Samdech Krala Hom appreciated and highly appreciated the efforts and good cooperation of the Royal Government of Cambodia. In addition, Samdech Krala Hom added that the decision of the FATF to have an On-site Visit for Cambodia is not only a success in an important step for Cambodia, but a rare golden opportunity for Cambodia to move forward. Samdech said that the upcoming On-site Visit is the last stage in the framework of the FATF procedure before deciding to remove Cambodia from its gray list.
