Phnom Penh៖Mr. Puy Kea, ASEAN Expert Journalist and Kyodo Japan News Agency in Cambodia, shared some tips for journalists to cover the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related meetings in 2022. Cambodia hosts.

The key points were made by the journalist on the afternoon of November 4, 2022 in the way of the press conference on [Preparing to cover the ASEAN Summit and related summits]. The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as many journalists.

The five points from Puy Kea’s personal experience that are presented include:

First, to know the program of the meeting process, that is, to know the specific time and general program from the first day until the end of the meeting to make it easier to follow and capture important points from the meeting.

Second / Know who is who? At this point, he explained that journalists need to know exactly who is attending the ASEAN Summit and the 34 related summits and their roles.

Third / heat problem. At this point, he divided it into two parts, one for local journalists and the other for the international arena. Local outreach refers to what Cambodia benefits from this meeting. The international arena is divided into five main areas: Myanmar or Burma, the South China Sea, North Korea, China and Taiwan, and the Russia-Ukraine war.

Fourth / Relevant documents in the meeting. He revealed that according to what he received, the main documents related to the meeting are up to 99 documents, which requires journalists to learn more about it.

Fifth, a general survey of the organization of the private sector, including entertainment services, restaurants and other services to find out which countries or institutions have gone.
