Samdech Techo Provides 7 Perspectives and Key Points to Promote Cambodian Sports and Prepare for the 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games

Phnom Penh៖On the occasion of closing the 3rd National Sports Competition and the 1st National Sports for the Disabled at the Moradok Techo National Stadium on November 30, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, provided views and key points. 7 points to promote the sport of Cambodia and prepare for the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023.

Those views and key points are as follows:

1. Ministries, institutions and capital-provincial authorities that do not yet have sports teams participating in the competition must establish sports units or sports associations in their ministries, institutions, capital-provincial authorities with clear and transparent management mechanisms to manage and increase the capacity of players. Its athletes regularly participate in national and international competitions.

2. Ministries, institutions and capital-provincial authorities must pay attention to the formation of sports teams that are superior and must organize competitions within the internal framework at appropriate times to strengthen the ability of athletes to participate in national sports competitions. 3- The National Organizing Committee of the 2023 SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games must accelerate the pace of readiness to ensure the high level of success in hosting this historic international sporting event. .

4- All relevant ministries, institutions and capital-provincial authorities must expand close cooperation with a high sense of responsibility and in accordance with the approach of “survival of the system – one character” to solve all challenges urgently. Ensure effective leadership, management and organization of major sporting events in 2023.

5. We call on the private sector, companies, enterprises and philanthropists to join the 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games Fund to contribute to the success of this international sporting event.

6- Please call on all people to adhere to the spirit of “one people, one host”, especially people in the capital-provinces who are ready to host the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023, please maintain hygiene. The environment is good and decorated to enhance its local beauty, to highlight the image of Cambodia and attract the attention of sports delegates and all international guests who will come to participate in the competition in Cambodia in 2023.

7. Encourage the organization of the social education campaign “Beyond the Games” of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia to increase awareness of the positive consequences of hosting a major sports event. This is big for the Kingdom of Cambodia.
