December 14, 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the inclusion of Angkor in the UNESCO World Heritage List (December 14, 1992 – December 14, 2022).

This is a reminder to all Cambodian children to love and take part in preserving the heritage, especially to express their deep gratitude to the Cambodian ancestors who sacrificed for the glorious cause of Cambodian civilization in the past and the subsequent struggle of The country’s leaders in overcoming all obstacles protect the precious heritage of the nation and the world.

The Royal Government of Cambodia is firmly committed to the preservation of this great heritage. Today, Angkor Wat has become a major tourist destination, attracting millions of international tourists to visit and get to know Cambodia’s cultural treasures. Please be informed that Angkor Temple was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on December 14, 1992 in Santa Fe, USA.

Following the inclusion of the Angkor site in the World Heritage List, an international conference was held in Tokyo from 12 to 13 October 1993 under the initiative of the Government of Japan with the support of France. And UNESCO to develop strategies and action plans for the protection, conservation and development of the Angkor site. To achieve this goal, the International Coordinating Committee (ICC Angkor) was established in December 1993. It refers not only to the temples of Angkor Wat, but to the entire Angkor resort, including the ancient temples, archeological sites, the environment and the human community, with a total area of ​​401 square kilometers. In the entire Angkor resort, there are nearly 100 other temples that are inscribed on the World Heritage List.
