Cambodia strongly disapproves of use of force against foreign aggression
Phnom Penh៖Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, reiterated that Cambodia opposes the establishment of a state, a dictatorship, a territorial division, the use of force by opposing the use of force or threatening to use force with other countries.
He said this during a meeting with people who volunteered to move from Area 1 and Area 2 of Angkor Resort to live in the development area of Run Ta Ek Natural Village, Run Ta Ek Commune, Banteay Srey District, Siem Reap Province on the morning of October 1, 2022. .
Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had asked Samdech for his opinion on the issue of the referendum on the annexation of Ukraine to Russia on Cambodia’s position.
“Samdech has declared that we do not support and that Cambodia opposes the establishment of a dictatorship, the separation of territories, the use of force by opposing the use of force or the threat of using force,” he said. “So it is understandable that if a resolution drafted by the United States and Albania does not pass the UN Security Council, it will definitely go to the UN General Assembly.”
Samdech further stated that Cambodia has no other choice because we think that if they are safe, they will send troops to Siem Reap, then hold a referendum to secede that Siem Reap is an independent state, do we get it or not? Absolutely not acceptable.
The Prime Minister said that the same case, even in Europe, such as Kosovo, established by NATO and Europe, we do not recognize at this time. This is the specific position of Cambodia.
