This morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and ASEAN leaders officially open the ASEAN Summit
Phnom Penh÷Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia and President of ASEAN, as well as the Supreme Leader of ASEAN, will officially open the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits tomorrow, Friday, November 11, 2022. This grand ceremony will take place at Sokha Hotel, Phnom Penh.
After the official ASEAN Summit, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and other ASEAN leaders will visit a photo exhibition showing the contribution of Cambodia and ASEAN after 23 years of ASEAN membership.
After the above two programs, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the Heads of Government of the ASEAN Member States will start the 40th Summit and the 41st Summit.
In the afternoon of the same day, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the leaders of ASEAN and the leaders of ASEAN countries will start a number of important meetings, including: The 25th ASEAN-China Summit,23rd ASEAN-South Korea Summit and 12th ASEAN-UN Summit
In addition to the above meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will meet with bilateral leaders and development organizations present in Cambodia.
It should be noted that the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related summits held for the third time in Cambodia as the rotating chair will be held from 10 to 13 November 2022.
The four-day summit will include the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits, the 25th ASEAN-China Summit, and the 25th ASEAN-Japan Summit. ASEAN Summit, 23rd Republic of Korea, 25th ASEAN Plus Three Summit, 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership Summit, 10th ASEAN-US Summit, ASEAN Summit, Second Australia, Anniversary Summit, ASEAN-Canada Relations and ASEAN Summit, United Nations and East Asia Summit [ASEAN 10, China, US, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, New Zealand].
ASEAN Leaders also Invite to Second ASEAN Dialogue on Post-Kovid-19 Rehabilitation The meeting will be attended by the heads of a number of key international organizations, and leaders of some ASEAN dialogue partners are also expected to attend.
Please note that in 2022, this is the third time that Cambodia has become the rotating chair of ASEAN after becoming a member on April 30, 1999. As the rotating chair this year, Cambodia has identified a common theme for the meeting (ASEAN to work together to address common challenges).
Cambodia, as the rotating chair this year, faces many major challenges that are unprecedented in the history of ASEAN. These include the political crisis in Myanmar, the South China Sea, the Korean Peninsula and the war in Ukraine.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen once stated when he received the hammer as the chair of ASEAN that as the chair of ASEAN in 2022, Cambodia will strive to lead ASEAN to achieve important achievements.
