PM Recommends 8 Tips to Contribute to the Sustainable, Effective and Responsible Management and Development of Cambodia’s Coastal Areas

Phnom Penh: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, recommended eight key points to participate in the discussions of the 16th General Assembly, as well as to contribute to the sustainable management, efficiency and responsibility of the Cambodian coast. Yes.

The eight key recommendations are as follows:

First, to maintain a permanent presence of peace, which is one of the biggest points related to the development of nations in the world. No tourist risks traveling to a war-torn country.

Second, Cambodia is committed to maintaining its membership in the club, and all four of Cambodia’s coastal provinces must maintain their belts and reputation as members of the most beautiful beach club in the world. We are committed to making our coastal cities sustainable, as we have strategically set out to develop coastal tourism:

Sihanoukville: a “vacation destination and a multi-purpose economic zone”,

– Kep Province: “High-end and luxury tourist destination”,

– Kampot Province: “Destination City, Heritage, Culture and Agro-Coastal Tourism”, and

Koh Kong Province: “World-class eco-tourism destination”.

Thirdly, I propose to organize the annual National Coastal Forum to meet, discuss and exchange views on the development of the Cambodian coast, as we can set May 26 every year, which is the day Cambodia became a member of the club. To organize this national forum by being able to take turns in the four coastal provinces.

Fourth, I would like to request the Ministry of Tourism and the Sihanoukville Provincial Authority to examine the possibility of setting up a beach museum (Maison de le Baie). In this regard, I would like to ask His Excellency the President and all the club members to share their experiences and the process of organizing the beach museum.

Fifth, I would like to request the Ministry of Tourism to cooperate with the Club of the Most Beautiful Beaches in the World to establish a Coastal Tourism Observatory as an additional institutional mechanism to promote the development of regional tourism. Beach as other club members have organized.

Sixth, in order to reaffirm its commitment to the development of the coastal area, Cambodia is ready to act as a secretariat to ensure the administrative and general affairs of the club, and the Ministry of Tourism and the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration must provide a place to work. One permanently at the Ministry of Tourism and the other at Sihanoukville for the operation of the Secretariat. In the meantime, I also welcome the organization of a club board meeting in 2023 or any future, along with other club events on the coast of Cambodia.

Seventh: With the election of the Executive Committee for the next term on the occasion of the closing of the General Assembly of Cambodia, please support His Excellency Bruno Bodard as the President of the Club for the next term and ask the Executive Committee and all Club members to support Cambodia as a member. Club Board for the mandate (2023-2025) under the leadership of His Excellency Louis Thébault (Louis Thébault) who will take office in the next term.

Eighth: With the expectation that the General Assembly will approve the Charter of the Bay (Charter of Bay), I would like to request the General Assembly, including Cambodia, to use this document as a basis for further compassing of reform. Develop its coastal areas.
