Samdech Techo Hun Sen Presides Over the Groundbreaking Ceremony for National Road 41

The project to upgrade the quality of National Road No. 41 with a total length of 95.27 km from the width of the road at the intersection of National Road 4 in Kandal province to Chum Kiri district at the intersection of National Road 3 in Kampot will be upgraded. AC paved road, 5 cm thick and widened to 12 m according to level 2 standard. The project will add artistic structures, including the expansion of an old bridge with a total length of 200 meters, 315 sewers of all kinds, equipped with eight speed cameras, as well as the installation of markers, markers, milestones and safety poles.
The project will be carried out by CRBC China Road and Bridge Corporation and technically supervised by Guangzhou Wanan Technical Consulting, with a construction period of 40 months and completion in 2026 at a total cost of more than US $ 67 million in concessional loans from the Government of the People’s Republic of China, together with the contribution of the Royal Government of Cambodia for the settlement of various impacts and taxes.

The Prime Minister thanked the Government of China for providing credit to improve the quality of National Road 41. Samdech Techo continued that the policy of Cambodia in the past was that we had less money to build roads for a long time, but now we need to build roads that focus on quality and aesthetics, that is, make roads strong and beautiful.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen reminded that National Road No. 41 was previously used since the time of King Ang Duong, in the 19th century to connect the capital in Udong to the sea. Kampot Province. The Prime Minister also said that so far, the Chinese friend has helped build 30 roads to Cambodia, which is more than 3,000 kilometers long, at a cost of nearly 2 billion dollars. Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the recent signing of a free trade agreement with China is a great opportunity for Cambodian agricultural markets to foreign markets. Currently, some Cambodian products and agricultural products are already being exported to the Chinese market and some are being prepared for export in the future.
